Pardon the lack of plating and creativity, but these easy Banana Heart Burger Patties are a hit to my littles! Perfect this holyweek, this meatless dish is yummy, nutritious, and at the same time very much affordable to make.

For newbie cooking mamas who are unfamiliar as to how to prepare this dish, here’s a rough guide:

Easy Banana Heart Burger Patties Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Medium sized banana heart patties, finely chopped
  • 1/2 Cup of Flour
  • 2-3 Pcs of eggs (two only if medium sized)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of pepper
  • Pinch of hamburger steak seasoning (optional)
  • Cooking oil for frying

Cooking procedure for Puso ng Saging Burgers:

1. Prepare one medium-sized banana heart (will come up with a detailed separate post on preparing banana heart for first timers) by blanching, draining, and chopping finely.

2.Saute the prepared banana heart in a small amount of cooking oil, minced garlic and chopped onions.

3. Remove from the pan and add half a cup of flour, and two medium sized eggs. Mix thoroughly.

4. AT THIS POINT, SEPARATE A PORTION OF THE BATTER FOR YOUR BABY/TODDLER SO THEIR PORTION WILL GO UNSALTED.

5. You may now season it for adult consumption — you can add salt and pepper, and if you have powdered hamburger steak seasoning, you can o and add a pinch too.

6. You may now fry the patties individually. Just make sure you will remember which ones are unseasoned, and which ones are for adult consumption.

7. Serve with ketchup either with hamburger buns or rice. This also keeps well in the freezer. Just cook the patties, cool them and keep in an airtight container. It will be good for up to a month, so freezer meal and working mamas, you may want to give this a try.
