When i have almost zero time to prepare lunch i run to my yakiniku slices, season and fry them and voila! Ulam in less than five minutes!
Where to buy beef yakiniku in Manila
Beef yakiniku slices can be bought from specialty meat shops, a Japanese grocery near you or even your favorite big grocery store.
My kids love this because it can also be used with homemade tapa marinade for mornings, or cooked yakiniku style anytime of the day (or night!). When paired with corn fried rice my kids think they are havin food from that sizzling pepper rice food outlet whose name is slipping my mind right now or even fastfood joint Yoshinoya.
Easy Beef Yakiniku Recipe
Anyway for those of you who would like to replicate this five minute yakiniku recipe, here’s a rough procedure:
1. In a small bowl mix three tablespoons of honey, three tablespoons of japanese or sushi vinegar, three tablespoons of soy sauce, 1.5 tbsp of oyster sauce, a bit of grated garlic, pepper and a tbsp of sesame oil.
2. Pour the mixture into fully thawed beef slices (up to half a kilo or one pound).
3. In a pan heat a bit of olive oil and add in a tablespoon of butter. As soon as the butter melts fry the yakiniku slices, wait a bit for it to turn brown and remove from heat immediately. Just add in more iil and butter as needed until you finish frying everything.
4. Pour the remaining marinade into the pn. Bring to a boil and simmer a bit. This will be your extra yakiniku sauce that you can pour over your rice. Enjoy!
