Your writer would like to apologize for the week-long hiatus. Had to take a health break, and Praise God, now I am back to doing our daily devos. Our entry may depart from our usual format, but I hope you could be encouraged by the words of our God-Hero and Father Forever that I will be sharing with you.
If you are a mom who feels alone, helpless, or undergoing any type of physical or emotional pain, know that our Heavenly King’s eyes are on you. Know that He is aware of what you are going through, and in His right time will give you physical and emotional healing. All you have to do is wait, continue seeking Him, and be steadfast in faith.
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
If you feel like you do not know how to move forward, unaware of what to do given the circumstances you are facing, know that God is always with you. If we as parents would like to be one or two steps ahead of our children to anticipate their needs and ensure their welfare, our Heavenly Father is more than two steps ahead of us. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is at the beginning for He knew us even before we were formed (Psalm 139), and He is in the end — because our days are written by Him and He has good plans for us! And He is also with us in our current struggle because He is omnipresent. We should rest in His promises because He keeps His word!
“You whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest corners,
saying to you, “You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off”; fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:9-10
When King Jehoshaphat of Judah was faced with a seeming unsurmountable threat of enemy forces, he sought God and organized all His peoples and led them to prayer. He admitted His vulnerability before the Lord, claimed His promises and pleaded for His help
“O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12
That supplication of his, was met with a wonderful response from God. The Lord told Him to do what he must do, and watch God fight the battle for Him. And they emerged victorious indeed
“You will not need to fight in this battle.Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.” 2 Chronicles 20:17
Like Jehoshaphat, we should seek God and empty our hearts before Him. When we humble ourselves before our Mighty King, and sing Him praises even if we are in a tight situation, we declare our utmost dependence on Him. When we call to mind the many times He has delivered us in the past, we honor Him, and Glorify His name! And this is exactly what the Apostle Paul is encouraging us to do:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
And so, hang in there, continue abiding in Jesus Christ, and wait on the Lord. Strengthen yourself in God’s words, and sing praises even if your heart is crying and your mind seems paralyzed. Surround yourself with your loved ones and Godly friends. And in His own perfect time, our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace will heal you, exalt you, and give you peace.
“Even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” Psalm 139:10
Thank you for reading through our devotional today. I invite you to
ponder on 2 Chronicles 20 and Psalm 139:7-18 to dig deeper on today’s topic.
Reflection Question: Are you struggling in any way today? How might knowing God’s eyes are on you strengthen your heart?
Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father, thank you for being our ever-present help in times of trouble. Thank you for being my refuge. Allow me to tell the weary and the needy that there is hope in you. Amen.
