Whenever we feel like we are falling flat on our faces, and going down way too deep, let us remember that we serve a God whose name is above all names. He is above every situation we face. He is above every dark pit of depression, our problems are way beneath His feet.
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,” Philippians 2:9-10
And when we call on Him, He will reach out to us and make us rise above all of it too. We just have to let Him help us, by letting go of what we are holding on to, and choosing to hold His hand.
“He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog,and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.” Psalm 40:2
When we commit to allow ourselves to be raised by Him, we then can rise above. Practically speaking, this means stepping away from the destructive lifestyle that pushed us towards the pit, and instead, following Jesus’ commands and teachings so that finally we could come towards the light.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
Once we decide to call on to Him, we will then get to live the life that Jesus died for us to live. A life that is worth living. A life lived in the light. A life not lived in hopelessness, darkness, and despair.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
