Whenever we fail in our attempts at improving our character, let us not lose heart and think that the Lord sees us with condemning eyes. Instead, He looks at us with loving and gracious eyes, because unlike humans who do not see our motives at trying to be better, our God sees our heart.
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2
And when our Heavenly Father sees us trying our best to be more patient, more gentle, more loving, and more kind to others, just so we can please Him, He beams like a proud Father even if we fail short at our attempts. So let us not lose heart, let us press on and maintain our focus on following Jesus, and reclaim His new mercies every morning. He delights in us!
“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephanaiah 3:17
