Daily devotional: The day

The best thing about having a bad day is that it can only get better. When we open our hearts to the reality that there is someone who died for us so that we could live a new life, we will realize that even when we are at our worst, we have within our reach the best blessing that we could ever receive.

Isaiah 9:6
Isaiah 9:6

At our lowest, and at the height of our sinfulness, we are given access to forgiveness for the sins that bear us down. We can also gain the courage to put away guilt and shame, and have the assurance that as we restart our lives, we will remain fully loved, supported, and cared for by our Heavenly Father.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

That peace in our mind, hope in our heart, and joy in our soul, are the divine gifts God through Jesus Christ offers to us when we decide to follow Him. And these three are also the foremost reasons why His birth into this world marked by the Christmas season will always be worth rejoicing for.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Thank you for reading through our devotional today. I invite you to
ponder on 1 John 1:7-9 and Psalm 103:10-12 to dig deeper on today’s topic.

Reflection Question: How did Christ’s love inspira you to get back to your feet when you were at your lowest?

Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father, thank you for the peace, joy, hope, and love that you bring into my life. Thank you that with you, all these are not tied into my circumstances but to your very presence in my life. Give me the grace to continue following you, and telling others to come after you as well. Amen.
