Daily devotional: The love you can count on

Do not believe the lie that you cannot start all over again. That everything was ruined already, your life has been terribly damaged and there’s no going back. You can still live a good life, you can still have a fresh start. When you decide to leave your sinful life, start believing in Jesus and walking in His ways, it will not be too late. You can still live a peaceful life, without guilt, without shame.

Lamentations 3:22-23
Lamentations 3:22-23

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Whether you are in your muddy situation because of what someone did to you, or something you did to yourself, you can still have a bright future ahead of you. When you anchor your hope in the God who did not even spare His own Son to save us all, you will know in your heart that you are loved, not condemned, forgiven and never deserted.

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39

Our God is a God of second, third, fourth, and many, many chances. If you think people have been fed up with you, that they have given up hope in you, our good God never will. No matter how far you have strayed from Him, always remember that coming back to His arms will always be just one step away — because He is always behind us, just waiting for us to seek His forgiveness and rest in His embrace.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

Thank you for reading through our devotional today. I invite you to ponder on Ephesians 4:22-31 to dig deeper on today’s topic.

Reflection Question: Do you struggle with moving forward, or even in imagining a bright future ahead of you? How does knowing that in Christ you have a hope for a better future, help you lessen your worries about the upcoming year.

Conversation with the Lord: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for being the mighty yet merciful Savior that you are. Thank you than in you we have a hope for a brighter and more peaceful future. Please give me the confidence and grace to rest in you. Amen.
