It is never too late to start reading the Bible. Never too late to start morning prayers and devotion. Never too late to start going back to church. It is never too late to go back to Jesus.
Once we decide to take that one step toward Him, He will come running towards us and receive us in His embrace. We do not need to be good enough and clean enough to go to Him. We just need to be willing to leave our sinful past, and follow His ways moving forward.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
Jesus Himself explained this brand of mercy, compassion, patience, and steadfast love through the Parable of the prodigal son. The story assures us that no matter how far we have gone astray, it just only
takes one step to go back to Him.
“I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.” Luke 15:19-20
