Society may call us names. It may even label us after our past mistakes. People may even be cruel enough to tie our identity with handicaps we have been born with, or what we have been victimized of.
But whatever labels others may have attached on us, may we rest in the assurance that our good God sees us for who we are. He calls us by our name and He calls us His own.
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1
And although others may call us for who we have been, God calls us for who we can and should be when we follow Him. When we have decided to embrace the life He has died for us to live. He sees our full
potential, not our history of sinfulness.
“See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.” Isaiah 65:17
We do not have to live in shame, in guilt, and in trepidation. Jesus laid His life for us so that we can have peace with God once we believe in Him, and follow His teachings. The new life He has promised is ours to live and enjoy. All we have to do is to come to Him, and honor Him with every decision we will make moving forward.
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2
