May our celebration of Easter not just be a routine annual event where we would get together with friends and family, attend church and have festivities. Let us allow Easter to be a reminder for us to tell our own children about Jesus and what His resurrection means in our lives.
May Easter also give us that extra confidence to help those in our own circle to truly get to know Jesus. To explain how His resurrection becomes our rebirth to a new life, from a past life of sinfulness. Let us allow Easter to be an avenue for us to help others accept the lease on life that Jesus offers, and honor Him with every decision moving forward.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” 1 Peter 1:3
For us who already follow Jesus, the yearly celebration of Easter is an opportunity for us to commemorate the passion, death and resurrection of our Lord. To look back into His sacrifices, and gain inspiration from it to be more like Him.
Easter should also be a time for us to show others the transformative power of Jesus. May we be effective witnesses that His grace, mercy, and salvation can truly change our lives, outlook, and the way we treat others.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
In our celebration of the Lord’s resurrection may we truly inspire those on the brink of fully surrendering their lives to Jesus. To give a non-verbal yet strong encouragement to finally embrace Jesus feet, through our own life transformation and action. That Jesus’ presence in our lives would inspire others to seek Him, humbly ask for His forgiveness, and seek His comfort and strength to leave a life of sinfulness, and follow His ways moving forward.
“Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Psalm 16:9-11
Thank you for reading through our devotional today. I invite you to ponder on Ephesians 4:22-24 to dig deeper on today’s topic.
Reflection Question: How did you celebrate Easter this year? Do you think it is too late to give others that extra push towards Jesus?
Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father, thank you that you give us opportunities to be more like you and to tell others to get to know you deeply. I thank you for your resurrection power, and may my life be a testament to others that your presence indeed gives new life and direction. Amen.
