Our ability to get closer to Jesus is never about our behavior nor our background. It is all about the beauty of our Savior’s heart, who in His amazing and infinite goodness and mercy, decides to look past all of our sinfulness and mistakes when we humbly come to Him.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:8-10
God truly delights in us and sees us for who we are — His children. We do not have to doubt His love, nor pretend we are not hurt. He knows everything and He is more than willing to help, comfort, and lavish us with His love. Let us lean in closer to Him today, and be assured that when we seek Him sincerely, He will reveal Himself and His will to us.
“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
