Daily devotional: The Cycle

If we are ever in a season of terrible guilt over past failures or present mistakes we can no longer undo, may we remember that our Heavenly Father continues to extend His hand of mercy.

John 6:37
John 6:37

There is no cycle of sin too vicious that He cannot get us out of. No filth nor stain is too hard for Him to wash away from our souls. When we come to Him, He promises to not condemn us.

“All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.” John 6:37

And so when we allow Jesus to redeem us from the pit of sinfulness, may we have the confidence to face the world anew. Let us allow Him to shed our shame, and pray for the grace to embrace the new life He died for us to receive.

Following Jesus

Following Jesus after all, is not about being stifled. It is not about living a stringent lifestyle devoid of fun. Abiding in Him is about living the abundant life of peace and joy that is not defined by our circumstances, but rather in our disposition as children of God.

Take hold of a renewed mind and a soul assured that everything we do is aimed at pleasing God, and not intentionally hurting others.

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:17

Thank you for reading through our devotional today. I invite you to ponder on Isaiah 30:18 and Ephesians 2:4-6 to dig deeper on today’s topic.

Reflection Question: Have you ever felt like you are beyond God’s mercy? That it is too shameful already to come back to HIm and recommit your life? How might you consider going back to the Lord our God of multiple chances? To the God that never gives up on us?

Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father, thank you for not giving up on me in-spite of the many, many failures I have committed, and the painstakingly slow process of my positive transformation? Please grant me the grace and confidence to continue coming to you, even if I stumble. To look forward to your renewed mercies every morning. Amen.
