Daily devotional: Unspoken Grief

Jesus hears all our doubts and disappointments whether spoken or unspoken and He loves us just the same. He understands where we are coming from because He was once in our place.

Psalm 34:18
Psalm 34:18

And He gives us the assurance that He is more than willing to listen to us. Our Savior tells us that if we will only be honest and willing to stop our sinful ways, He will forgive us and give us another chance.

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:15-16

And as we heed His gentle yet persistent invitation to us, He promises to walk with us. Our Messiah promises that He will guide us into the peaceful and contented life He has always wanted us to live.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Thank you for reading through our devotional today. I invite you to ponder on Ephesians 4:1-6 to dig deeper on today’s topic.

Reflection Question:  In the instances that you felt you hit rock bottom, how close did God seemed to be towards you? What will make you feel assured that He will not let go, and he fully understands you?

Conversation with the Lord: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for being close to me in the many times that I felt I hit the end of the line. Thank you, you are just so good to me. Allow me to continue to gather strength and confidence from you my Lord, and to tell others about your faithfulness and unfailing love. Amen.
