In His graciousness and mercy, God comes us with loving and creative
ways to restore what was lost or broken in our lives. In His perfect
time, He shows us we can live an abundant life that recognizes and
appreciates His blessings for what they truly are. He opens our eyes
to the reality that we do not need much to feel genuine peace,
contentment, and joy.
“Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion; instead of
dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot; therefore in their land they
shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy.”
Isaiah 61:7
In His mercy towards us, He will allow us to re-experience joys we
lost or have never experienced because of our own sinfulness. When we
take that one step of repentance, He will give us yet another chance.
And once we are there, it will all the more be special because we know
that our restored life was made possible by the One Savior whom we
have surrendered our lives to.
“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten— the great
locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm –
my great army that I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat,
until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God,
who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed.”
Joel 2:25-26
Thank you for reading through our devotional today. I invite you to
ponder on Job 42:10-13 to dig deeper on today’s topic.
Reflection Question: Which part of your life has been restored by God,
and which part are you still waiting for His restoration? How could
His promises encourage you to wait on Him, and open your eyes to His
blessings in your life.
Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father, thank you for restoring
what’s broken and missing in my life. Thank you that even if some of
them I have lost because of my own sinfulness and disobedience, I
could still count on your steadfast love and mercy to give me another
chance. Thank you for your lovingkindness my Lord. Amen.
