Daily devotional: Replacing the lies

We do not have to believe everything that comes to our mind. We must
learn to replace the lies we believe about ourselves, our past, our
present circumstances, and our future with the truth of God’s word,
and His promises.

Isaiah 26:3

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he
trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3

Our God is good, and He is faithful. We can truly trust Him because in
Him there is no darkness. He loved us, and died for us even when we
have not yet decided to follow Him.

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the
stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain
green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not
cease to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8

Thank you for reading our devotional today. Kindly read Proverbs 3:5-6
for a deeper dive into our topic.

Reflection Question:  Do you believe everything that you think of?
What will make you realise the truth of God’s word is more significant
than our circumstances and how we see our future?

Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father, thank you that our hope
is in your Son Jesus Christ. Thank you that in Him we can truly live
free from the paralyzing grief of a hopeless future. Give us the
confidence to continue holding on to your promises. Amen.
