Daily devotional: Greatest Contribution

Whenever we feel like our efforts as mothers amount to nothing, may we remember what someone once said: “as a mom, your greatest contribution in the world may not be something that you do, but someone you raise.”

Galatians 6:9
Galatians 6:9

Oftentimes we feel unseen, we feel exhausted, and most of all underappreciated. But through all these, the loving gaze of our Heavenly Father never leaves us. He smiles with every sacrifice we make, He is pleased with the love we continue to pour out. He covers our mistakes with His grace and mercy, and continues to strengthen us with His own spirit.

“For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” Philippians 2:13

And so, just like our King of Kings, may we not get tired of serving and loving our children. May we focus on His promise that His sufficient grace will make up for everything that we lack. And that we can always look forward to His loving presence in this lifetime, and through eternity.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

Thank you for reading our devotional today. Kindly read Philippians Isaiah 54:13 and Deuteronomy 6:6-7 for a deeper dive into our topic.

Reflection Question:  Do you feel like you are failing as a mom? That your efforts at raising good children seem not to bear? That what you do is not even visible and appreciated by others? How can knowing that the Lord appreciates everything that you do help you feel better about motherhood and your purpose?

Conversation with the Lord: Lord Jesus Christ, help me stay rooted in you as I go through the day to day challenges of motherhood. May I see the bigger picture each time I get a setback. May I continue to hold
on to your promises of help and strength. Amen.
