Daily devotional: New Doors

When we feel like we lost an opportunity to succeed, or a chance to be happy, may we remember that God sometimes closes doors to protect us.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

And as we choose to trust in Him by continuing to obey, may our eyes be opened to the better doors that He will soon open. Doors that will lead us to the peaceful, and fulfilling life He has long planned for us.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

And as we try to see the shut doors as divine protection, may we also get to realize that these could just be a divine preparation for the best life God has planned for us.

We may not understand what is happening, but if we just keep the faith, and remain focused on Jesus and following Him, we can overcome our difficulties. Such difficulties in return will prepare us to handle the grace God will pour upon us. His delays are never His denial, all in His perfect time.

Thank you for reading our devotional today. Kindly read Jeremiah 29:11-14 for a deeper dive into our topic.

Reflection Question: Do you see closed doors as a punishment from God? What could help you realize that God has a heart of a loving Father who only wants the best for His children?

Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father, thank you for being my wonderful Savior and King of Kings. For wanting what’s best for us even when we cannot understand it at first. Grant us the confidence to continue t keep our hopes in you amid the difficulties we face. Amen.
