God’s love is not a reward for the good things that we do. For the good life that we live, and our obedience to Him. God’s love is a medicine that heals the wounded, the sinful, and the lost. It is poured out to all. It is offered to everyone even those who do not seek for it yet..
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Peace that transcends understanding
But for those who choose to follow Jesus, the love that they receive also comes with the peace this world can never give.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27
It is the peace that is never dependent on riches, relationships, and rank in life. It is the peace of knowing that God is pleased with us. That He will be with us through every difficulty we will ever face. It is the assurance that He sees everything we do, and loves us just the same.
