Just like a parent who hears even the slightest whimper of their newborn baby, our Heavenly Father is tuned in to us. He hears our cries. He even understands our deepest sighs. Our silent grief that words could never begin to describe.
“But truly God has listened; He has attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, because He has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!” Psalm 66:19-20
He is the best Father we could ever have. He invites us to bring over to Him our grief, our disappointments. He is interested to hear what we have to say about what troubles our hearts. He longs to comfort us.
“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” Lamentations 3:25
There is no point in camouflaging our emotions. because He knows our deepest thoughts. Yet He invites us to encounter Him. To build a relationship with Him. To take hold of His promises, and put our hope in Him.
And though He may not take away our sadness and deepest troubles, He promises to give us His peace. His peace that transcends human circumstances because it is anchored in His goodness and faithfulness.
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because He trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3
We have a good God who cares, who understands, and who only wants the best for us. Let us hold on to that.
“How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you.” Psalm 31:19
