We do not have to strive so hard, and fight tooth and nail to be favored, to be honored, to be deemed worthy. The worthiest of it all, the Only one who can judge our lives, sees us as His precious ones.
And though we may have made mistakes, and stumbled along the way, the Lord does not take it against us. When we humble ourselves before Him, He embraces us and takes us back without condemnation.
“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
The God that we serve restores our self-worth and dignity. He does not only heal us from our emotional wounds, cover up our shame, and eliminate our guilt. He allows us to rebuild our lives anchored on His grace, and provides us with a clean slate.
Best of all, He does not do it for anything else other than His genuine love for us. We do not have to get His attention. We have it even before day one.
“Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalm 139:16
Thank you for reading through our devotional today. I invite you to ponder on Psalm 139:13-16 and Isaiah 43:4-5 to dig deeper on today’s topic.
Reflection Question: Are you trying so hard to fit in and get recognized? How does knowing that God loves you for who you are, calm your heart? How can this truth make you feel assured that the only one you need to please is the Lord?
Conversation with the Lord: Lord Jesus Christ, sorry for the many times that I have tried to gauge my self-worth through the standards of other people. Please give the confidence to continue just seeking, and pleasing only you. Amen.
