Daily devotional: Never a Bother

We are never a bother, and we will never be an interruption when we come to Jesus in prayer. He will never turn us away when we tell Him about our day, ask Him our questions, or plead for His help and
guidance.

We can even sit in silence with Him and He will think that it is fine. He does not mind if we long for His presence even if we are at a loss for words. When we try to get His attention even when we do not know
what to say.

Revelation 3:20
Revelation 3:20

Our Savior is never a distant God. He does not watch from His throne, nor is He too busy to listen. He may know everything about us, but He is interested in how we would tell Him about everything, our way. He is more than willing to listen, in fact He has been waiting for us to come to Him.

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:20

And so, all we need to do is to turn towards His direction. To recognize His wonderful voice. And when we do that first step, when we make that first effort, He will come running and embrace us.

He has always wanted us to come closer, and He has been tirelessly inviting us day after day, after day, to come to Him. To lay our burdens before Him. To learn from Him, and be consoled by Him. Only our Prince of Peace can do that for us. He is the only one perfectly capable of putting true joy, peace, and contentment in our hearts.

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3

Thank you for reading through our devotional today. I invite you to ponder on Isaiah 30:18 and 2 Peter 3:9 to dig deeper on today’s topic.

Reflection Question: Do you feel like the Lord has been calling you to recommit your life to Him? What keeps you from answering His call?

Conversation with the Lord: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for being so patient with us. Thank you for giving us multiple chances to come back to you. Give us the confidence to continue coming to you. To continue seeking you. Amen.
