When you seek the Lord in humility for His guidance and divine intervention in a crisis you are facing, the battle will no longer be yours to fight, but HIS!
You just have to face it, do what can be done from your end, and then HE WILL SUPPLY everything else that you will need to win it. He will provide you with the strength of mind and heart, favor from other people, timing, and all the resources you will ever need to come out victorious.
“You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lordon your behalf,” 2 Chronicles 20:17
One of the stories in the Old Testament that reflected this truth was that of King Jehoshaphat as he was about to fight fierce enemies such as the Moabites, Ammonites, and Meunites. In spite of his long experience and reign as King and commander of the battles that his kingdom Judah faced, he humbled himself before God to ask for his wisdom, guidance, protection, and help.
“Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12
And as the whole kingdom fasted and prayed before the Lord, word came upon them that God will give them victory. And He did! As for us, the good news is that we serve the same mighty God who promises to be with us in our battles who promises to uphold us, and who will never leave nor forsake us.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
Such a promise He made, and fulfilled throughout history, for believers like us. And as we present-day followers profess our faith in Jesus, and choose to honor Him in our daily lives, we too can count on the Lord to strengthen us, fight our battles, and help us overcome inevitable crises we will have to face ijn our lifetime.
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
Thank you for reading through our devotional today. I invite you to ponder on 2 Chronicles 20:1-24 to dig deeper on today’s topic.
