Jesus may choose not to heal all our sicknesses, but as the Greatest Physician, He promises to heal the worst sickness we could ever contract — Spiritual Ailments that paralyze us and keep us from experiencing His peace and living a fruitful life.
Unlike physical illnesses that could even purify our souls and intentions, It is Spiritual Sickness that keeps us stuck on a never-ending sin cycle. It keeps us burrowed in a pit of depression, anxiety, and fear.
The good news is when we sincerely call on Jesus’ for help and healing, we can truly count on reaching His already outstretched healing hands.
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24
When we surrender our lives to Jesus, ask Him to be the Lord of our life, confess and turn away from our sins, and follow His ways, we will receive the healing our soul needs. That healing will give us God’s peace. Once we have it we will know in our hearts that God has forgiven us and that assurance will give us the reason to hope, stay strong, endure, and still be joyful amid inevitable struggles that we will face in our lifetime.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
