Hello everyone! I was running late in cooking our lunch the other day, and so I decided at that time to cook one of the easiest dishes to prepare: Tortang giniling with potatoes. I got so engrossed with my other daily activities at home that I lost track of time and was running late to get something on the table for lunch.
Good thing this dish is so easy to do, I have ingredients on hand, and I even have pre-steamed potatoes that I was supposed to use for another dish. It is a go-to dish, that even my own yaya when I was little used to cook. She however used banana leaves, but me? I could not find any so non-stick pan is the key.
Tortang Giniling Cooking procedure
It is really easy even for non-experienced cooks. Just saute onion and garlic, brown the ground pork or beef, and season with salt and pepper. While it is cooking, beat some eggs and season it as well. Pour the beaten eggs and cover the frying pan for 3 minutes or so.
After three minutes, try your best to flip the omelette because it will burn if you don’t. Then cook for another three minutes. Serve with lots of ketchup! Yum!
My kids love banana ketchup
The best dip for this dish is of course any type of ketchup. In our house though, it is Banana Ketchup! After cooking the meal, I asked one of my daughters if it was good. She said it was and that she is very hungry! That is a good answer for me!

Food for the soul
At this point, I hope you will also allow me to share with you one of my favorite bible passages. This time it is from the book of the Prophet Isaiah:
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
ISAIAH 40:31
Thank you for stopping by and till next post!
