]]>As promised, here is the second installment for our teacher gift idea series. I am hoping that the publication of this post can still make it in time for your holiday shopping and that this post on Christmas Gift Ideas for Teachers can help you better decide on what gifts to purchase.
Nowadays, online shopping can bring out a whole world of convenience for us moms, but when the holiday budget comes in at the last minute, it can be really stressful to shop online. Why? Because shipment may be delayed because of the holidays – delivery volumes, holiday induced traffic situation etc. even online sellers put up a disclaimer for these possible issues, and may even have earlier cut-off schedules.
In any case, for those who will be doing last minute PHYSICAL STORE shopping, for teachers at least, here’s part two of our blog series on Gift Ideas for teachers in the Philippines, this time under P350.00.
Apparently, my daughter’s school discourages giving gifts for teachers during Christmas or any holiday for that matter. This is why I prodded her to come up with personalized Christmas Cards for each of her teachers so that we as a family could at least express our gratitude for the many great things her teachers have done for her. Having said that, I still researched for teacher gifts under P350.00 because I have become a mall rat, and I love shopping.
For gifts under P350.00 you can already get a small box of pastry at either Purple Oven, Conti’s or even Mary Grace. Conti’s for instance sells boxes of assorted pastries, lemon squares, and even brownies for less than P300.00. A six-piece cheese roll box from Mary Grace on the other hand runs at around P320.00 I think. Just make sure to call in advance, or drop by the day before you decide to pick up the pastries (if they are more than five etc) so that you will not have to wait longer or run the risk of not getting the pastry that you want.
You may also want to get a bar or two of Theo and Philo Artisan Chocolates. They are available at Gourdo’s, Rustan’s Department Stores, and select Robinson’s Department Store Branches. Echo Store, also carries this local and world-class chocolates if I am not mistaken.
What is nice about giving food items as gifts is that it is much appreciated and at the same time can be shared with teacher’s friends of her own family.

=======================================================
If you are not the type to give edible gifts, and would not want to be inconvenienced with the needed careful handling, storage, etc of these gifts then go the usual route – buy something that is useful for child’s teacher all year round.
In SM, there are cute water bottles with matching ear phones that are already in cute gift boxes. They come in different colors such that you will not have to find a different gift for Male teachers because they have the gift set in darker, male-friendly colors as well. These gift boxes go for P299.00 each.
Another gift that you can buy from the department store are cute power banks like this, which go for P349.00. They come in various designs that can be appreciated by both male or female teachers.
They also have eco bags that are useful and at the same time adorable — complete with inspirational quotes or statements. Price range is at P100.00 to P249.00.
The Body Shop also has holiday gift packages for ladies.
Female Clothes Shop For Me meanwhile sells perfumes for P298.00. Smelled each of them, and they are all light and happy-smelling. Something that won’t trigger AR on children who may want to give teacher a hug (just kidding). They also have cute lovely pouches at P349.00. I think teachers can use it as an over-sized pencil case or a kikay kit.
Over at Miniso, there are scented Holiday Candles that your child’s teacher may appreciate. It sells at about P299.00. There are also spill-proof water bottles in the store, and those that are made of glass, and have a silicone protective sleeve that retails at less than P350.00 per bottle.
If there is a Marks and Spencers near you then you may want to head there as well and pick up a box of tea, or boxes of gourmet coffee packets that start at P225.00 per box for the tea, and around P345.00 for the box of Gourmet Coffee Packets.
So there you have it, hope you got an idea or two from this blog post for teacher gifts worth P350.00. Hope I have been able to help! Till next post everyone. ]]>Teachers play a huge role in our children’s development, and so there is no surprise why a lot of parents would like to thank them through a Christmas Gift. Christmas gift ideas for teachers can be a lot but the deciding part can be tricky.
But in this joyous but hectic season of giving, it is easy to get overwhelmed with the many choices available for every budget.
I thought of rounding up some gift ideas for teachers, and I have segregated these gift suggestions based on their costs and where to purchase them, and come up with a two-part series on Gift for teachers this 2017.
Nothing wrong with being practical nowadays, because it is always better to spend and live within our means. After all, the old adage that says “it is the thought that counts” still applies, and the good news is, there are more and more gifts out there that are either useful, adorable, or yummy at unbelievably low cost. This particular blog post tackles gift suggestions for teachers under P200.00.
Head to Miniso or Mumuso where trinkets are both useable and cute! I remember during my time, there is this store that people frequent for cute but unusable gifts that end up as clutter, and you would not like to give out something like that right? In Miniso, you can find items that are both adorable and useful. Found toiletries like Foaming Hand Soaps for as low as P99.00. Body Mists are also available for P149.00. Lip Balms can also be bought for P99.00.
(Post Continued Below)
=====================================================================
==========================================================
If toiletries of kikay stuff is not your cup of tea, then you may want to consider Miniso’s Reed Diffusers that come with various scents. Prices start at P99.00 and it could be perfect for Teacher’s cubicle back in the faculty room. There are also water bottles under P200.00 which are perfect even for Male Teachers. Journals and cute notebooks are also aplenty and prices start at P99.00 per piece.
Watsons also carries unbelievably low-priced gift items, like Buy 1 Take 1 Bodyscrubs at P159.00. They also have these gift bundles wherein of you buy three, you would get each of the gift pack for as low as P149.00 each.
If you have an Echo Store branch near you, why don’t you pick up a Spa in A bottle for your child’s teacher? This one is just about less than P150.00 and ot smells heavenly – destresses you the minute you smell it after rubbing on your palms! One of the perfect Christmas gift ideas for teacher 2017.
Throw Blankets are meantime less than P200.00 (169.75 apiece) at SM Department Store Sale Racks. If you will be patient and eager enough to find something adorable, then you will definitely be able to land your hands on those cutie plush blankies.
In SM Department Stores there are also some happy stuff to give out as gift teachers under 200 pesos. Ecobags that are perfect for folders, and envelopes can be bought for only P100.00. Cute statement frames that are perfect for teacher’s cube or her own bedroom can also be bought for P149.75.
Marks and Spencer’s also offer gift items under P200.00 although these are biscuits and chocolates that are still presentable, and definitely delicious. Please pardon the photo quality but the prices of the digestive cookies and the chocolates start at around 90++
You may also want to check out Human Heart Nature’s offerings. They have various gift sets under P200.00. HHN Gift sets can be bought from their shops, resellers near you, or even in some select grocery stores.
So there you have it, hope you got an idea or two from this blog post for Christmas Gift Ideas for teachers worth P200.00. Hope I have been able to help! Till next post everyone. ]]>If you are wondering where to bring your kids during this year’s Christmas Break then this post is for you.
I have compiled a list (that I will update up until the end of the year) of some of the no entrance fee Christmas attractions for kids this 2016 that will surely make kids and kids-at-heart feel the joy of the yuletide season.
1. Ayala Triangle Lights and Sounds Show 2016 — this annual lights festival has been a tradition for my not-so-little familia. It happens every night until after New Year and it is hands-down the best place to bring your child in the Metro Manila despite the heavy traffic. My advice – go on a Sunday, but be early so that you can still find a parking space in the basement, and you can have a nice pwesto near the lights. After the show there are wonderful places to dine in (hello Poco Deli, and to those who want to splurge, Black Bird). If you are somewhat short non the budget, just bring some snacks and sandwiches, and a nice blankie and have a n impromptu picnic in the area. Of course there may be fewer people during weekdays but you’ll get trapped in epic Makati traffic — unless you live just around the area. The Festival of Lights has started already and will run until January 8, 2017. The shows start from 6PM in 30 minute intervals until 10 in the evening. Here is a link to their official website.
2. BGC Epic Sights and Sounds Spectacle Show– Bring your children over to the Bonifacio High Street Park to happily witness the multimedia lights and sounds show dubbed as the “Epic Sights and Sounds Spectacle.” The show runs every thirty minutes starting at six in the evening till 10 in the evening. The lights and sounds showcase will run until December 26, 2016. Apart from the multimedia show, kids will also enjoy the gigantic 50-feet Christmas Tree in the area – perfect for family groufies!
3. Policarpio Street, Mandaluyong — if your kids are fond of lights, drive through this street one weekend and they will be amazed with the lights and all the Christmas displays — guaranteed! Decorating the neighborhood has long been a tradition in this area so expect to see decked halls – and lawns – and gardens — and every nook and cranny of a house during Christmas time. No entrance, so free and sans expenses again!!! Here is a great site that will teach you how to get there.
(Post Continued Below)
========================================================
================================================================
4. Nuvali’s Magical Field of Lights – This is technically outside Metyro Manila but for those4 hailing from the south NCR, this is definitely worth the trip since it is amazing and most of all FREE! Their show runs every 30 minutes from six in the evening until nine PM daily until January 8, 2017.
5. Filinvest East Christmas House — If you are from the Cainta, Taytay, Antipolo, Marikina, and Pasig areas then this is yet another happy attraction that you and your kids can see for free! I heard though this year, the lines are quite longer and it will be best to be there before 8ish as they already have a cut-off. After trekking to Taytay for your DIY Fabrics, why not go to Filinvest East and treat the kids to a fun Christmas display? The home owner really takes the effort to decorate her whole house for the season. Lovely! Here is a video of their display last 2014.
6. The COD Christmas Show –– Grew up watching this in its original mall in Cubao! Yes the COD Christmas on Display show where my Mama used to bring us. It has been in Greenhills Shopping Center for more than 10 years now, and remains free! The show runs every 30 minutes starting six in the evening, until 10 in the evening. They have already started showcasing the annual display and will continue to do so until New Year’s Day.
7. Meralco Liwanag Park, Meralco Compound, Pasig City – Year after year, this utility giant provides a no-entrance fee Christmas Pasyalan for the whole family. There is no trouble finding a parking spot because the main headquarters of Meralco has enough parking spaces after office hours. This year’s theme is “Christmas Around the World” and it will feature replicas of the Tower of London, Eiffel Tower, Golden Gate Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Burj Al Arab, Petronas Tower, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Empire State Building, Pyramid, and Colosseum.
Their Gigantic Nativity Scene made from recycled copper wire is also featured in the park. Kids can also ride in the electronic trains for free! The show runs until until January 8, 2016.
The park is open from 6:30-10PM, Mondays through Thursdays and 6:30PM till 12 midninght from Fridays to Sundays.
So there you have it. Hope you could make the trek to any of these places that offer free holiday entertainment for children and the whole family this Christmas in Manila 2016. I promise to update this post as soon as I learn of more free holiday pasyalan within the metropolis.

Mommy Kaye of Sparkling Rainbow Cloth Diapers makes adorable cloth diapers for baby doll too! Yes, cute CDs for your little girl’s Baby Alive doll! Ask her about it by joining her fb group here.

Where to buy Christmas Dresses for babies in the Philippines

]]>The post Where to buy Christmas Dresses for babies in the Philippines appeared first on Happy Pinay Mommy.
]]>It can almost be considered tradition to dress little girls in nice and new dresses every Christmas.
I remember one of my ninangs supplying metwo to three Christmas dresses year after year until i was too old for these. My mom though, still insists on buying and choosing one for me.
Now that im a mom, i fully understand. Little girls get to become all the more adorable when they wear Christmas dresses. Im thinking as well that for families like us who go to church for the midnight mass, kids have to dress up because after all it is like they are attending a birthday party of the best Child ever born.
For you fellow moms, looking for great places to buy Christmas dresses, this post is for you —
1. Department Stores — There is absolutely nothing wrong with scouring those bins for sale items, and going through rack after rack of tutus, organzas, and red and white cotton and tulle dresses. My ex officemate — as i have mentioned in my post on where to buy baptismal dresses — swears by Landmark Department store in Makati for nice yet very affordable Christmas dresses. Of course the selection in SM is vast — just be sure to go to a big one like that of SM Makati or Megamall or probably North Edsa for more choices. The dresses in Rustan’s are definitely not cheap BUT they last a really long time and you are sure you could pass it on to your other children when the time comes — so it will be worth it over time.
2. Malls — it is not really cheap to go shops and boutiques — BUT if you chanced upon their sale, for sure you’d get huge discounts! Worth checking out are Zara, Rajito, Periwinkle, Tarte Tatin, H & M, Cotton on Kids, and even Mother Care sometimes for little ones.
(Post continued below)
====================================================================
===============================================================
3. Bazaars — Check out the many choices in the various bazaars all over the metro. Of course do not forget the year in and year out bazaar at Greenhills. Really lots of choices there that are affordable and cute.
4. Bargain Meccas — Of course how could we ever forget to list down Divi — kakababa mo palang anjan na ang mga baro, yes even outside the famed numbered buildings like 168, 999 and the like. Baclaran — just within the periphery of the church are stall after stall of dresses that would rival those you’d see in department store racks. If you go to the permanent stalls in there and not the bangketa/ambulant vendors, you can see some dresses that are brand-less and label-less but would remind you of the ones sold in major department stores at about 1/3 of the price.
5. Online — if you seriously do not want to be victimized by the epic traffic situation that will be get worse as Christmas draws near — why not let your fingers do the shopping for you? Want cash on delivery and free shipping for items amounting more than P1,000.00 check out Lazada. They have many choices just like this dress which you can get here. You can also check out stylemelittle.com. This is my go-to online shop for my babies from NB stage up to now. Not really cheap but hey the clothes here are nice! Another online children’s dress shop you may wanna check out is The Princess and The Pea PH – they have an ongoing promo of three dresses for P2,000.00 and they have big sister-baby sister dresses too! Here is a link to their FB Store. You may be able to score great finds at Zalora too!
So, there you have it. I am sure there are other places and Online Shops where you may buy Christmas Dresses for your little girl/s. I will be updating this post as soon as I discover more. If you have the time, hope you could drop by my Facebook page and hit the like button, so you can receive regular updates from Happypinaymommy.com direct on your newsfeed.

]]>If your family prefers Lechon over Chinese ham for your Noche Buena and Media Noche then this post is for you.
I have compiled a list of establishments where you can order the best lechon in time for the holidays. Of course these are just the ones I have tried already so you can be sure it is yummy and yummy and yummy. Did I say yummy?!
1. Pepitas Kitchen — I cannot fully explain why I love this lechon. It is just superb especially the one with truffle rice inside! Heaven really!!! You’ve got to try it. They’ve got other stuffed lechon flavors too! Check out their FB page here. Also — if you have balikbayans coming in for the holidays or you simply want to try something new instead of going to buffets why not indulge in their Degustacion? Ask them about it!
2. Elar’s Lechon– well it has not survived this long if it ain’t good and yes! Elar’s is definitely one of the best. Skin is of course crispy and very yummy and meat is tender! My tita g won’t have a party without Elar’s in the buffet table! Check out their website here. You can actually order from them online and they will deliver!
(Post Continued Below)
========================================================
================================================================
3. Sabroso — My favorite exboss loves this and he orders from here for every gathering in the office — Bless him he is one of the nicest people i have known! Anyway, a good friend P also recommends this place and thanks to her i discovered that apart from the take out place in Katipunan Extension, there is a dine in restaurant (super small-ish though) along E. Rodriguez in Quezon City. It is along the same avenue where St. Luke’s is but this one is nearer tomas morato if I am not mistaken. Apart from the lechon we also ordered dinuguan and bopis hahaha. Anyway here is their FB page so you could ask for clearer directions.
4. Zubuchon — this Cebu based lechon restaurant also ships their goodies to Manila. You just have to place and pay for your orders three days before you want to pick it up from the airport! Now if they can also ship their Kamias shake too!!! Here is a link to their website.
5. Ulcing’s — Soooo yummy and worth every bit of the cholesterol and calories!!! Order this very tasty Cebu lechon and you will not regret They have an outlet in Fort Bonifacio here is their number: 497-7957, (0919) 361-3291 and they deliver to Makati for FREE!!! This is love <3
6. General’s Lechon – This lechon is Native LECHON at its finest!!! Sampled it in a friend’s birthday and I was told it is one of the best and it is! I am sure it is not the porkaholic talking but it really is good further research showed that this lechon is negros-style roasted lechon where the owners hail from. Check out their website here.
7. La Loma Lechunans — well, this is somewhat sentimental and mainstream – Ping-ping’s of course I remember my officemate G and even Mang Boy, who introduced me to not just lechon that is fresh from the grill — but also the super bagong luto and oh so crunchy chicharon bulaklak and bituka served at the dine-in areas in ping ping’s in La Loma. Imagine we will have lunch here in the Saturdays when we were required to go to work? Hahaha. Of course I’ll mention Mila’s lechon as well because it won’t be a household name if it were not good. My mom was friends with Aling Mila too. Some 20 years ago, I remember she’d send over kilo after kilo of lechon just because thank you for the sweetness Aling Mila!
So there you have it, hope I was able to give you ideas on where to order the best Lechon in manila in time for Christmas. I included the links so that you could personally check on the pricing and the availability of the products (and of course order ahead of time). As always, I promise to update this post as I discover more yummy lechon in the Metro.

]]>The post Where to Buy the Best Chinese ham in the Philippines appeared first on Happy Pinay Mommy.
]]>I grew up anticipating Noche Buena with a leg of Chinese ham on the table. The ham is ceremoniously prepared — cooked and baked –by my mom (and of course inay as her assistant) and my older brother. Truly, me and my little sister know that it is Christmas when our dining room starts smelling of melting brown sugar over baking ham. Yummy. Slathered with mayonnaise, it was heaven. We even eat it with rice the next day for breakfast.
Now that I have a fam of my own, I try to recreate that scene but! Of course with the mommy shortcuts I had to do because unlike my mother — I do not have assistants to help me out to prepare a Christmas feast.
For those of you who would like to just buy cooked Chinese ham this post is for you.
Where to buy the best Chinese ham in the Philippines:
1. The Plaza — Chinese ham at its finest. They have branches in Dasmarinas Village in Makati and in the Petron that is just outside La Vista among other branches. Call for reservations early. Here is a link to their website. They ave an FB Page too — here.
2. The Majestic ham — These are the stalls that are outside some supermarkets like Shoppersville in Katipunan, some Rustan’s supermarket branches, Cash and Carry in Makati and many more. Based on experience you’ve got to order in advance during the holidays because they run out of stocks fast! Another great thing about this is that you can buy by the kilo or even a quarter of it, or even bits if you want some! Here is a link to their Website.

]]>Christmas is indeed just around the corner, and we must already start scouting for Christmas gifts for our loved ones, friends, and people we are thankful for.
A group of people whom we have to give gifts to are teachers of our children. And while there are a lot of gifts to choose from, our personal holiday budget may not be able to handle all things bright and shiny.
So If you are looking for nice and heartwarming gifts for your child’s teacher with your budget in check, then read on.
1. Lovely plush pillow. When you are standing up most of the time, you will surely appreciate a comfy throw pillow in your desk that doesn’t look like you go it from your mom’s couch. Check out the nice and fab throw pillows for your child’s teacher at PopJunkLove.
2. Care package. Teachers work even at home as they check papers, finalize lesson plans, grade students etc. Show them that you care by sending any yummy (and hopefully nutritious) snack items from Rustan’s Fresh. Throw in a big bottle of Arizona Tea and put them inside a brown bag that your child decorated especially for her.

So after grouping your Christmas gift recipients and allotting a budget for each group, you determine that there is a group of babies in your life whose gift budget falls under P100.00 each. But what can you buy with just P100.00???
Do not fret ladies, there are cutesy patootsy, cheap yet cheerful and fun gifts that you may give these little tots, and the good news is I have compiled them for you! 3. Lazada – If you want to shop online, and just pay upon delivery then buy your tot’s Christmas Costume from this shop. Prices are almost the same as those sold in online stores, like this cute Santa Romper, which you may buy here for just P650.00. You may also want to check out this three-set Santa Costume for a baby girl, which you can also buy here.
4. Tots and Toddlers – This Facebook shop has an exciting array of Christmas Costumes for your infant and younger child. Check out the prices and stock availability here.
5. Cutie Tots – This FB store has a good selection of Santa Costumes for your baby. For instance, the sizes of their Santa costumes range from newborn size to toddler age, so if you’ll be giving birth a couple of days before Christmas, you may want to order now because it makes for a cute Going Home outfit! Here is a link to their FB shop.
6. OLX – If you are OK with buying pre-loved goods then you might just find a great Christmas costume here. Just be cautious with your online dealings as some sellers do not have their own FB Page where you could follow up your concerns. Here is a link to their site.
So there you have it. I hope you’ll be able to find the Christmas Costume you’d want your baby to wear for Christmas. I will be updating this post as I discover more shops that sell Christmas Santa Costumes for babies. ]]>The post Where to buy Cheap Christmas Decorations in the Philippines appeared first on Happy Pinay Mommy.
]]>Read just now that there are only five Mondays left before Christmas and i felt happy and at the same time panicky because i have yet to find decorations that will make our little home more christmas-y.
So here i am sharing with you places where you can find cheap and cheerful Christmas decorations
1. Dapitan Arcade— i so like this place all year round. They have lots and lots of decors that will make you double check if that indeed is the price. The decors are so affordable you wouldn’t think it could be that cheap. I bought here five years ago, nice fabric Christmas decors, matching Christmas plates, serving platters, and pitchers and my golly those are all microwave and oven proof! Another great thing here is you can haggle. Here’s a map.
2. Uniwide in Sucat – one of my friends swear by this place when it comes to buying happy and “bagsak presyo” Christmas finds! Who can resist changing the theme and color motif of your annual Christmas decors when the decorations here are so cheap! I am referring to the Uniwide Sucat, Paranaque branch, and although it looks like a kind of old warehouse, you will be amazed with the Christmas bargains you can find.

3. Quiapo — if you want native or Filipiniana-themed Christmas decor then this is the place to shop at. The “Quaipo ilalim” has fun and very Pinoy Christmas decors that will make balikbayans (or the clarks of your lives — sorry, faney — im on episode 11 hihi) smile and look forward to the Holidays.
4. Divisoria — The ultimate shopping mecca. Almost any shopping building in Divi — 168, 888, 11/11 or whatever have Christmas decorations that look festive and nice without boring a hole in your wallet! Pick-pockets lang talaga ang bubutas ng bulsa mo dito Besides, if you are the crafty type, then Divi has stores after stores of shops that sell laces, and other raw materials that you can use for your DIY Christmas decor project.
5. Greenhills — okay it is not really cheap here but if you want the bazaar feel, and options that are quite cheaper than those in the malls and department stores then head to this aircondition tianggean. At least here, you can babywear your kid and go through stall after stall until you see the decor that will catch your fancy.
So there you have it. I hope you will be able to buy the decor apt for your theme this year — and stay on budget while you’re at it. If you have the time, hope you could drop by my Facebook page and hit the like button, so you can receive regular updates from Happypinaymommy.com direct on your newsfeed.
