Ginisang munggo with ground pork and spinach.

This recipe is not too soupy but yummy enough for my children to like so since that is all that matters to me, i consider this dish a win!

For newbie cooking mamas who may want to replicate this dish here’s a rough procedure:

How to cook ginisang munggo with spinach

1. Soak the mung beans the night before and wash it well with salt water.

2. Boil the mung beans till tender inwater that is enough to cover the beans. This will take about 30 minutes. I like my munggo real tender to I use the back of a spoon to test the tenderness of the beans after about 20 minutes of boiling and then every 5 minutes after that.

3. In a pot, saute onion and garlic. Add the ground pork. I usually pre boil ours but it is fine if you choose not to. Brown the pork and season with patis and pepper.

4. Add the boiled munggo and about half to 3/4 cup water. Boil and simmer for about ten minutes stirring once in a while.

5. Add the spinach leaves. Cover and simmer for three minutes.

6. Serve with chicharon on top!
