Make your own lactation smoothie

I have been breastfeeding non stop since i became a mom, and tandemfeeding my preschooler and toddler until now. Alam naman natin there are days in the month when we get a dip in our supply (sorry tmi). So for moms who need to boost their breastmilk supply either because of a temporary dip or for pumping out of the home, here’s an alternative milk booster – lactation smoothie.

Easy Lactation Smoothie

If you dont have the time to make your own lactation cookies for your healthy snack, post pumping meryenda or even breakfast, make a LACTATION SMOOTHIE instead!

It has the same ingredients as your usual lactation cookies but without the added sugar and carbs AKA flour!

This lactation smoothie has great galactogogues like Brewer’s yeast, flax seeds, chia seeds, and rolled oats! It is simple and you can take it anytime with any fruit you like.

How to make lactation smoothie in the Philippines

Here’s how to make your lactation smoothie. You will need a blender or an osterizer or a nutribullet for this. A single serve blender will really encourage you to take this everyday because there is not much to clean- up.

Easy lactation smoothie recipe

1. Mix two to three tbsp of rolled oats, 1 tbsp flax seeds or flax meal, 1 tbsp of chia and 1 cup soymilk (or your choice of milk). Set aside for 30 mins or overnight. I usually prep his before i sleep. Parang overnight oats lang 😊

2. Put the mixture in a blender, add your favorite fruit like banana, strawberry or avocado. Add a dollop of peanut butter if you like or a tbsp of cocoa powder.

3. Add 1 1/2 tbsp of brewer’s yeast.

4. Add more milk (you can add as much as 3/4 cup if you want to thin the mixture or even some water to thin it out.

5. Add crushed ice and your choice of sweetener. Yes – brewer’s yeast is kinda unpleasant to my taste so i add stevia or honey to make it taste better plus some drops of vanilla extract.

6. Blend and adjust the flavor to your liking.
