When troubled, let us not allow our tears to blur our vision and keep us from seeing Jesus. May our vision be clear enough to recognize Him who is with us all along, helping us endure the trials and difficulties we are facing.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
Focusing on the Pain
May we not be too focused on our pain that we turn a blind eye on His presence in our lives. His presence that He could choose to manifest through the family who supports us. In the friend who continues to encourage us. And through His word which is always available to us through the Bible and our Sunday worship.
Instead of keeping us from seeing Jesus, may our tears push us close enough to Jesus to allow Him to wipe our tears dry.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
Shifting the focus, seeing through the blur
And so let us choose to believe in the God who sees us, and every tear that we shed. To the God who never abandons us, and promises to walk with us through the fire. And let us not allow our teary eyes from seeing that He sits close to us whenever we need Him the most.

Reflection Question: When in pain, do you realize that Jesus sits with you through your pain, or do you wonder if He sees you? How can the Bible encourage you that He never leaves nor forsakes you when you are in trouble?
Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father, sorry for the times I fail to see you in the brokenness of my situation. Sorry I get preoccupied with my own pain and grief that I doubted your presence and your help. Grant me the confidence to believe that you are just with me at all times, and that I can always count on you to hold me through my pain. Amen.
