Daily devotional: Extravagant Love

True love never involves a restless struggle to gain attention, affection, admiration, and loyalty. It is instead having that peaceful confidence that you are truly accepted, genuinely adored, and
faithfully loved.

1 Corinthians 13:6-8
1 Corinthians 13:6-8

“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:6-8

Faithfulness fulfilled

Let us not demand from others, the kind of love that only our Heavenly Father can give. A love that is self-sacrificing, steadfast, unconditional, and extravagant. We can never get all these from those closest to us. Even from those we love dearly. Only when we are filled with the true love of our Savior, can we truly be complete.

“For I am convinced that  neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

Thank you for reading our devotional today. Kindly read 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 for a deeper dive into our topic.

Reflection Question: Do you expect from others the love that could only come from our Savior? What steps could you take to help you come to Jesus first for all your emotional needs before demanding them from those closest to you?

Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father, thank you that you are my mighty Savior and Prince of Peace. Thank you, that in you we can find the true love that only you can give. Thank you that in you we will be complete, and every void in our heart will be filled. Amen
