Let’s make it a habit to set positive triggers. Triggers do not have to be bad. It does not have to prompt us to feel slighted or angry. It instead could remind us how much God loves us therefore we should
extend his love, compassion, kindness, and generosity to others.
“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Hebrews 13:16
And so let us train ourselves that whenever we remember God’s faithfulness in one aspect of our lives, we should move to pay it forward even in a small way. We can do it through a good deed, or suddenly spending time with our kids or other loved ones. We can also call a friend who may be needing someone to talk to or visit the sick or elderly.
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8
May our time, treasures, and thoughts be one of God’s hands of love and mercy towards others. May the positive triggers we set remind us of His goodness, and prompts us to extend the grace God would have wanted us to extend on His behalf.
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
Thank you for reading through our devotional today. I invite you to ponder on Matthew 25:37-40 to dig deeper on today’s topic.
Reflection Question: Are your triggers getting you angry or sad? How can you set up reminders of God’s love instead so that you can be prompted to remember how much He loves you?
Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father, thank you for your faithfulness in our lives. Thank you for loving us and staying with us, even when we are too stubborn, too selfish, or even too busy to reach out to you. May we always remember your faithfulness to us, and may it prompt us to extend the love to others. Amen.
