Daily devotional: He keeps track of our sorrows

Whenever we are praying to God, let us always remember that we are
praying to a Father who loves us. A Father who understands what we are
going through. He sees every bit of our struggle, and what is truly in our hearts.

Psalm 56:8
Psalm 56:8

“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in
your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” Psalm 56:8

And though our problems may still exist despite our persistent
prayers, we can rest assured that every suffering He allows us to go
through will never go to waste. He has a purpose for whatever pain He
allows to linger in our lives. None of our tears will be wasted.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who
love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

His grace is enough

Through all our tears and the prayers yet to be answered, we can
continue to hope. We can be confident that He will give us the
strength and courage to endure our struggles.

And as we await His perfect timing, we will realize that His
deliverance does not only come with a respite from hardships. We will
also experience healing and restoration for the life that has been
shattered by pain.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is
made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly
of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For
the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults,
hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am
strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Thank you for reading through our devotional today. I invite you to
ponder on Colossians 1:11-14 and 1 Samuel 1:1-20 to dig deeper on
today’s topic.

Reflection Question:  When you pray to God, do you envision a Father
who eagerly listens to your prayers or a distant God who just takes
notes of your requests? Is there ever a time in your life when you
really knew that God heard your prayers? How does knowing that God
draws nearer to us when we are broken, make you feel more confident
that He hears your prayers?

Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father, thank you that you come
nearer to me when I am broken. Thank you that I can trust that you
hear and see all my struggles and that when I call on You, you will
hear me. Help me become more confident in your grace, and trusting in
your plans. Amen
