Our struggles may not miraculously go away when we decide to follow
Jesus. But with His presence, our life difficulties will be more
bearable. We can endure because we now possess the hope that only our
Lord can give.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In
this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the
world.” John 16:33
We can feel peace even amidst our pain. And though we may still have
to live through the consequences of our past mistakes, we can feel
that we are no longer chained. That there is a bright future waiting
for us, as we try our best to live a God-honoring life moving forward
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I
will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my
righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Reflection Question: Do you ever wonder why you still have to go
through life challenges even if you are faithful to God? Have you
doubted His presence in your life because of this? What truth does
Psalm 16 communicate to you as you hold onto your hope in God’s
immutable love and presence in your life?
Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father, thank you for your
assurance that everything that you allow to happen in my life are
things that you have long planned for, for my own good. Give me the
courage to face these challenges, and the heart that is fully secure
in the hope that can only be found in you. Amen.
