Prayer does not help us by magically removing our problems. It helps us by reminding us that we are not alone. That we have a Heavenly Father who cares for us, and will help us at our time of need.

“The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
Whenever we feel discouraged about our situation, and God’s seeming silence over our situations, the Bible encourages us to keep on praying.
Unanswered prayers do not mean our supplications do not work. God continues to work in the background, and His answer does not always involve immediate resolution of our troubles.
Sometimes, He chooses to hold our hand through it to help us have a stronger faith so that we can endure future trials. God is listening and in His own perfect time He will respond to us.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Thank you for reading our devotional today. Kindly read 1 Samuel 1:10-20 for a deeper dive into our topic.
Reflection Question: Do you feel discouraged when you feel like your prayers are not being heard? How can the assurances in the Bible, and the story of Hannah in 1 Samuel, encourage you to continue bringing your prayers to God?
Conversation with the Lord: Heavenly Father thank you that you assure us of your presence and power through our prayers. Help me to have a heart that fully trusts in you and holds on through prayers. Amen.
