Our prayer time, bible reading, and weekly church worship are not just items on our checklist. They are not mere bullet points we need to cross off and accomplish. These instead are God’s invitation to cultivate a deep relationship with Him. A connection that would allow us to draw strength, guidance, comfort, and hope in Him.
The invitation
And so, may we relish the opportunity to get to know Him more, and be grateful for the privilege of calling Him our Savior, Protector, Heavenly Father, and Prince of Peace.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20Â
The God that we serve is not a transactional God. He does not bless us just because we adore, worship, and praise Him. He pours His blessings to us because He is our God — the perfect Heavenly Father who promises to protect, provide, and be our guide.
Natural Response to His goodness
Our worship should just be our natural response to His goodness. And so, loving God is not a transaction, nor a give and take thing. He is a relational God and He loved us first. And He is inviting us to a solid relationship in the hopes of being in our hearts so that He could be with us until eternity. Â
“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!” Psalm 34:8
