We often hear the phrase “surrender our life to God” but what does it really mean? It means centering our lives to Him. We do not have to be in full time ministry or religious service to do this. All we need to
do is to prioritize God every day of our lives.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
We can start our day by talking to him through prayer. We reflect on our mistakes and ask for His forgiveness, give thanks for His blessings, and acknowledge that we cannot do anything without His help
and guidance. We also read and reflect on His words, trying our best to live it.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
More importantly, surrendering our lives to Jesus means honoring Him with both our daily choices and life changing decisions. Making His words and teachings the foundation of all our actions, and aligning
our own will to His. Believing that acceding to His plans will always be for our own good and God’s greater glory.
“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.” Psalm 37:5-6
