Hello everyone! Back in the grind once again to provide you with low budget Filipino weekly meal plans that could hopefully help you in deciding meals for your family throughout the next seven days. The computation of the P150.00 ulam suggestion, as always does not include the condiments which are usually available in the kitchen as well as the rice that will be paired with it. The dish suggested will most likely provide about four adult-portioned servings, which means if you have very young children then the meal can be further stretched since they do not eat much.

Why meal plan this 2025

Meal planning, as I have always advocated, saves time, money, and effort and is good for the health. It helps you choose better and more nutritious meals for your family. It is great for the health because it promotes homecooking versus ordering out or eating processed food. It helps you buy everything you need at one time, helps you make use of whatever you have at home, and at the same time it lessens food wastage. Moreover, it lessens the stress of thinking what to cook for the day, and what to thaw for tomorrow.

Our website features a lot of meal plans which you can check out and use. It will help guide you in shopping in the wet market or the grocery. Feel free to print or screen shot. Now that I know how to make PDF files (hahahaha) I have put in a link for you so you can download the file, save it on your phone, or print it so that you can post it in your fridge door.

Cheap yet cheerful Filipino ulam ideas

I have included noodle-based dishes like sotanghon and misua, as well as made from scratch breakfast dishes like pancakes and champorado. Making these breakfast items from scratch is much more economical than buying them from the ready to cook box from the grocery. Moreover, when you make them, you can double up the batch so that you can have some left for next week or for meryenda.

I also included some vegetable side dishes that could hopefully increase the nutrition level of the meals. The vegetable side dishes are very easy to prepare, some of which do not require much preparation like the Pipino Salad (cucumber salad)
