For those of you who may be looking for a healthier easy chicken sisig recipe, then this post is for you. I will be sharing with you today how to cook Chicken Sisig, the easy way!
Much that i wanted to prepare a sizzling version, i dont have a gas stove where I could heat up the cast iron plate so let’s just make do with this kid-friendly version.
This one is easy to make but it requires some prepping. Preboiling of chicken breast, and separate pre- boiling of chicken liver, and shredding (or mincing if you wish) of the cooked chicken breast.

Cooking procedure:
- 1. Preboil chicken breast (about 500g). Flake once cooked.
- 2. Pre boil liver in water and a bit of vinegar. Chop once cooked.
- 3. In a pan, saute onion and garlic. Add in the chicken and let it fully mix with the oil and the onion-garlic mixture. Add in the liver and stir through.
- 4. Add in fine ground pepper and garlic powder.
- 5. Add in about 3-4 tbsp of mayo. Adjust to your preference. This dish would have been healthier if we used light mayo but we ran out of it.
- 6. Cook for about 3 minutes.
- 7. AT THIS POINT YOU CAN NOW GET A PORTION FOR YOUR BABY AND TODDLER SO THAT THEIR SISIG WILL GO UNSEASONED.
- 8. You can then season the sisig for adult consumption: add a tablespoon of oyster sauce, and 1/2 to 1 tbsp of light soy sauce — ADJUST TO SUIT YOUR TASTE.
- 9. If you have table seasoning like knorr add in a dash — toyomansi will be best.
- 10. You can also add in now your sliced finger chili and labuyo if preferred.
- 11. Egg is optional and is best if you have a sizzling plate. If you have a sizzling plate you may heat it at this point and melt a tablespoon of butter to make it sizzle.
- 12. Transfer the sisig mixture onto the plate and crack an egg on top prior to serving.
If you will have some left overs, you can refrigerate it, add Kewpie or any other mayo the next day, and use it as a sandwich filling
