This easy crispy fish fillet has been one of our go-to ulams when we are pressed for time to cook our normal meal. It is because it is so easy to cook and does not require much ingredients. In fact, the most complicated thing about cooking this is to remember to take out the fish fillet for thawing. Anyway, mommy brains aside, I will be sharing with you today not just the recipe for easy crispy fish fillet — but also some ways to quickly cook it.
Cooking the easy crispy fish fillet in minutes
First, thaw your fish fillet the night before. From your freezer transfer your fillet t the refrigerator to safely thaw the fish. Never leave it in the counter for more than an hour much less over night!
The following morning, you can now prep the fish fillet. Since thawed fish or meat is not safe for re-freezing, you should prep everything that you thawed. If it is too much, then you can just freeze the remaining breaded fish fillet in a vacuum container or ziploc bag for an easy grab and cook meal the next time.
Ingredients for the breaded fish fillet recipe:
- 1 kg Fish fillet (you can use pangasius, labahita, or whatever fish fillet you prefer)
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 to 1 1/2 cup Panko japanese bread crumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying

Crunchy fish fillet recipe procedure:
Before starting the cooking procedure, you may want to start heating cooking oil already so by the time you have breaded several fish fillet strips, the oil will be hot enough to fully deep fry the fish fillet pieces.
Going back to the prep, to make it easier for you to slice the fish fillet into strips, use kutchen shears instead of a knife.
At this point separate a portion for your toddler and baby so that their fish fillet wont end up getting seasoned with salt and other seasonings.
Season the fillet to be served to adults with salt and ground pepper.
Now beat the eggs, and prepare a plate filled with Panko or Japanese-style bread crumbs. Dip the fillet in eggs and then roll in the bread crumbs and fry. About 2-3 minutes per side if not totally deep frying, or until it reaches a golden brown color. Make sure to use low fire so that the fish will be fully cooked.
You can now serve your easy crispy fish fillet with a Japanese mayo-ketchup dressing, roasted sesame dressing, or whatever dipping sauce you may fancy.
